A Versatile Current-mode Network Working as both Filter and Oscillator Employing CCCCTAs

چکیده

This article presents a novel current-mode universal biquadratic network providing both standard transfer functions. The principal element of proposed network is CCCCTAs. The feature of this network is that the pole frequency quality factor can be orthogonally adjusted via input bias currents. Besides performing as a universal filter, with an appropriate condition, the proposed network can function as a quadrature oscillator without changing its circuit topology. The oscillation frequency and oscillation condition can be independently controlled via input bias currents. The PSPICE simulation results are depicted. The given results agree well with the theoretical anticipation, where the maximum power consumption is 6.65mW at ±1.5V supply voltages. In addition, the circuit description is very simple, consisting of merely 3 CCCCTAs and 2 grounded capacitors. Without any external resistors and using only grounded elements, the proposed circuit is very easy to further develop into an IC form for operating in battery-powered portable wireless communication system equipment.
